On
November 21, Vassal Lane held its first Social Studies night. The
evening was kicked off with a potluck dinner, followed by classroom
demonstrations and activities showcasing each grade’s curriculum. In 6th
grade Social Studies there was an activity about the ancient Egyptian
calendar and how it was separated into three parts; the rainy season,
the harvesting season, and the cropping season. In the corridors were
timelines showing when VLUS families arrived in Cambridge, and from
where.
