Seventh Grade Ice Skating Trip
By Fiona O’Loughlin
On
February 14 the Seventh Graders of Vassal Lane went on a skating field
trip to the Steriti Memorial Rink in Boston’s North End. Many students
had fun watching people fall down. “I enjoyed seeing Mohammed fall,”
said Siem Yebio, when asked what he liked about the trip. Students also
were delighted to miss school. “I liked that we were gone for the entire
day” said Io Andersen. Sam Costa agreed. Grace Austin echoed others in
her enthusiasm for the day’s drink of choice, saying “I liked the hot
chocolate.” Afiyah Master said her favorite thing about the trip was the
skating. The only complaint was the long slushy walk to Harvard Station
to board the T. Elsa Head remarked on what quick learners the
first-time skaters were. “France Kely went from falling down to
mastering hockey moves. He should join a hockey team.”
