Silent Auction
A group of eighth graders at our school is organizing a Silent Auction to help raise money for their end-of-year field trip. From making posters to contacting local businesses for donations, these students have been working extremely hard to prepare as much as they can for this event, which happens only once a year. If you’re interested in taking a chance to win exclusive prizes including (but not limited to) guitar lessons and handmade jewelry, please take time to stop by the French room (322) on January 23 (Winter Arts Night)at 6PM. Be ready to make some great purchases at our event!

Science
At the RiverEighth grade students in the Marine Biology Elective visited the New England Aquarium and Castle Island this past November. After viewing the diverse habitats and marine life on display at the aquarium, they conducted a plankton tow and collected microscopic plankton at the outlet of Pleasure Bay into Boston Harbor. As they navigated the rocky barrier wall and explored the shore, they collected representative shells of marine organisms living along the rocky shore the beach environment along the Head Island Causeway. They are now busy identifying the things they found and will put them into a Wonder Sand Jar for display.
