The click of a manual film camera when a student saw something intriguing on a walk. The sound of laughter, music, and computer keyboards clacking as students wrote photo statements. The sight of students getting into a formation near the Pond to take a picture. These were all common sounds and sights this semester in photo club. This semester, our group learned about angles and lighting through weekly lessons and artist slideshows. Many photos were then taken using manual 35mm film cameras on our photo walks around Cambridge. At the end of the semester, students spent time examining and choosing their favorite negatives and had prints made at a local photo store. Students’ own personal themes ranged from nature/portraits, storyline, faded, black and white, random, and street photography. It was a fun semester and we hope you enjoy the Photo Display outside of the Teacher’s Room, on view for the next few weeks.
